National Health Information Network
Our journey started with the vision to address the U.S. national burden of healthcare cost, patient safety and health care when President George Bush signed an executive order in 2004 creating the position of the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONCHIT) within the Department of Health and Human Services. ONCHIT issued a public Request for Information regarding a National Health Information Network. The NHIN initiative outlines the nationwide implementation of interoperable health information technology across the industry. The initiative recommends the need for using identification technology to meet key goals such as portable electronic patient records, interoperable clinical information and medical asset tracking to increase patient safety to name a few. Aventyn, Inc. supports the NHIN initiative and submitted a response to the public RFI ([pdf] Download Aventyn Response).  A complete report representing responses from a cross-section of industry stakeholders is available here at HHS.

Adhering to industry standards enables us to achieve high levels of excellence in delivering uniquely valued solutions to our customers.
